Exhibition "Querbeet - Pictures from the region"

As part of the "Senior:innen für Cotta" project, three artists from Cotta and Dresden are exhibiting their works in the Neues Volkshaus Cotta.

OPEN-AIR CONCERT at the NEW VOLKSHAUS COTTA

Querformat e.V. invites you to the garden from 6 p.m. when the weather will hopefully be fine. In addition to a great musical treat, there will also be barbecued food and drinks to really enjoy the summer in the countryside.

The new duo program "Live Music - fresh from the meadow" brings together two exceptional artists, a musician and a musician. Both have repeatedly given very personal insights into their musical work on countless stages, sometimes alone and sometimes together.

Cora Liebmann and Chris Rasch together promise a multifaceted and promising combination of two musicians and singer/songwriters. The long-time companions play acoustic guitars, mandolin, harmonica and their two voices. This is genuine, handmade music for the soul that goes straight through the ear into the heart.

You can't get much closer and more authentic to artists than this. And anyone who has experienced the two musicians live knows that there are always surprises and plenty of humor on stage. This is storyteller music for nostalgia fans. Folk/rock, Americana, old-time with a classic singer/songwriter attitude and, of course, their own songs.

The Move It Film Festival for Human Rights is going on tour. On the occasion of our 20th anniversary, we are showing selected award-winning films in various districts of Dresden. Watch out - Move It

Film: Muhi - Generally Temporary - Documentary - OmdU - Israel - 86'min - 2017 - Rina Castelnuovo, Tamir Elterman
Synopsis:

Muhi, the son of a Hamas activist, is transferred from the Gaza Strip to an Israeli hospital as an infant due to a life-threatening illness, accompanied only by his grandfather Abu Naim. At the age of two, his condition deteriorates drastically and his limbs have to be amputated. Despite his artificial limbs, Muhi lives a full life in the hospital, cared for by his grandfather and Buma Inbar, an Israeli war veteran. A return to Gaza would mean his certain death, but due to Israeli security regulations, he and his grandfather are not allowed to enter Israel. Muhi grows up in hospital, rescued and cared for by the "enemy" of his people, while his family lives in Gaza. In the summer, he has to leave the hospital to go to school, which requires a difficult decision: Should he grow up in Israel without his family or return to Gaza at the risk of his life? The documentary shows the complex dilemma and the impact on Muhi's life and future.

When? Sunday, Sept. 29, 7:30 p.m

Admission is free. We appreciate a donation.

Review:

Computer nostalgia
Long prepared - on April 27/28 the time had come. On the tables covered with white tablecloths, interested visitors found 5 "old-timers" of computer technology ready to play. Another 5 places simulated the "old-timers" on modern computer technology - everything was hands-on and hands-on. The children particularly enjoyed the pixelated games. These were still played using cassettes or floppy disks. It was also possible to show how, if you are interested, you can still get back to the originals of that time on modern devices. All in all - a success, even if the number of visitors did not meet our expectations.
