Visit us on the Pottery Open Day on March 8 and 9, 2025 from 10 am to 6 pm in the Volkshaus Cotta! Experience the spring exhibition with the works of ceramicists Katja Seyfarth and Marre Schindler as well as other artists from the house and colleagues from the region.
Enjoy coffee and cake accompanied by live music from the great"Spielplatzcombo".
There's lots to look at, chat about and buy lots of pretty things for the heart.
The exhibition is open on Wednesdays from 14:00 to 17:00. Admission is free.
From February 5, 2025, pictures by hobby photographer Henrik Ahlers will be on display at Volkshaus Cotta. Under the title "Creativity in 360°", Ahlers presents the world from an unusual perspective in impressive all-round shots.
The exhibition format "Seen like this." serves as a platform for creative people every 10 weeks.
With this offer, we not only want to enrich the Cotta district, but also offer interested people the opportunity to talk to each other about current perspectives on art.

We would like to develop projects together with senior citizens in and around the Volkshaus Cotta to revitalize the house and garden. Together with the volunteers and project manager Yvonne, you can develop and present your personal project idea in two ideas workshops. Perhaps you will find like-minded people in the group who would like to work on an idea together.
Finally, we will support you in bringing your project to life. You can take part in our monthly meetings. The entire offer is free of charge.

The project "Senior:innen für Cotta", funded by the Social Welfare Office of the City of Dresden, serves as an incubator and supporter for your project idea. Here you can implement your own creative ideas or take part in artistic and craft workshops, meet new people and exchange ideas. We have the following offers in our repertoire in 2025.

The AG Stadtteilkultur is a working group of people who want to get involved in the Cotta district. It deals with urban planning and urban development, monument protection, the history of the district, its people and buildings and other topics. With the working group, we want to network and support existing initiatives in the district together with interested Cotta citizens.
We meet regularly every 4th Wednesday of the month from 17:00 to 19:00 in the Volkshaus Cotta.

We currently have a studio space of about 14 square meters available for tradespeople/creative professionals in an open working atmosphere with currently five other artists.
