The Brettspielehelden Dresden e.V. are back with us at the Neues Volkshaus Cotta!
The Family game meetings took place every two weeks on Sundays from January 2023 to mid-March 2024. However, since transporting the many games to Cotta was also a hassle, the event was then only held in the Brettspielehelden Dresden e.V.'s own rooms. But together we have fond memories of that time!
But now there is a comeback! We are indulging in nostalgia and packing lots of games again, with a focus on children's games, so that we can meet up with old friends on site at the Neues Volkshaus Cotta. We still remember the first Spieletreff there, where over 70 guests were present and the seats were cramped. As always, everyone is welcome and there will be some party games as well as more challenging games alongside children's and family games.
There will also be tea, coffee and snacks. Come along to the Neue Volkshaus Cotta from 14:30!

Open art group for everyone, especially for people in challenging phases of life.
The resource-oriented group cordially invites all people - especially those who find themselves in challenging or changing phases of life, for example due to illness, career changes, the transition to retirement or similar situations.
In a protected and appreciative space, creating art together offers the opportunity to calm down and recharge your batteries. Creative inspiration promotes solution-oriented thinking and opens up new perspectives. This creates space for strengthening, personal development and confidence. Participation is free of charge.

In 2026, we will be celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Volkshaus Cotta. To prepare for this big celebration, we need your help! The house has been brought to life by so many people, ensembles and initiatives over the years. Every story, every picture and every document is an important part of it.
That is why we are inviting you: Share your memories! Whether it's a personal anecdote, an old photo or a drawing - your contributions are invaluable. Help us to preserve the stories surrounding the Volkshaus Cotta and make them visible for future generations.
Let's discover together the many facets of the former "Richard-Gärtner" district cultural center, which many of you will surely remember as the "Rote Hütte". We have collected treasures from private and public archives - from chronicles of the "Spielbrett" theater group to rediscovered photos of the reopening in 1980 and finds from the Deutsche Fotothek.
You can drop by on Thursday (19.02.26) from 12-16:30 for a cozy afternoon at the cinema. The movie tells the story of a girl's adventures on an island and the friendships she makes there.
The movie will start around 2 pm. Before that, there will be time for games and getting to know each other. We have a popcorn machine and super-chilled deckchairs.
The event will be accompanied by the two employees of the Neues Volkshaus Cotta.

You can print your own textiles on Thursday (12.02.26) from 2-5 pm. We have set up a screen printing station and have various motifs with us. Try out different colors and combinations!
And on Friday (13.02.26) you can dance all your energy out with Luis Lametta from 3-6 pm ! We have decorated our hall as a disco for you and if you get thirsty, there will be colorful drinks.

We are currently planning the next offers and events. Soon there will be creative workshops, community parties and cultural events again! There will be exciting events for children, especially during the winter vacations.
We have lots of ideas and would be delighted if you would like to take part or support us. Please get in touch at mitmachen@neuesvolkshaus.de or come to the kiezSprechstunde on 21.01. from 2 - 5 pm at the VHC.

Nokia, Samsung or Apple. Rainer has a well-stocked box full of cell phone cables for older cell phone models. If necessary, come by and charge your cell phone. Ideally while you are taking advantage of an offer, during repair café times or during kiezSprechstunde.
We would like to develop projects together with senior citizens in and around the Volkshaus Cotta to revitalize the house and garden. Together with the volunteers and project manager Yvonne, you can develop and present your personal project idea in two ideas workshops. Perhaps you will find like-minded people in the group who would like to work on an idea together.
Finally, we will support you in bringing your project to life. To do this, you can take part in our monthly meetings. The entire offer is free of charge.

The "Senior:innen für Cotta" project, funded by the Social Welfare Office of the City of Dresden, serves as an incubator and supporter for your project idea. Here you can implement your own creative ideas or take part in artistic and craft workshops and meet new people and exchange ideas. We have the following offers in our repertoire in 2025.
